“With much trepidation I began as a novice mature skater over a year ago. My nerves were twofold: absolutely no experience with the sport, and the parks where skating took place seemed alien and, in my mind, unwelcoming.

I watched with great enthusiasm as the Graystone park was built; and then when it opened I was, with nervous fervour, eager to start my journey into this new challenging world.

The adult skating learner night at the park became a fantastic opportunity to use world class facilities in a safe and mindful environment with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The existence of a specific adult night that is coached in small intimate groups has made going to the park a far less intimidating endeavour.

Danny is a coach, teacher and mentor, who emboldens trust and dedication in the learner. He is actively supportive giving you confidence and assurance in the learner/teacher dynamic; and throughout whole sessions, both individually and as a successive experience. Lessons are planned around an individual’s abilities, with all tasks determined by appropriateness; both with safety in mind but also challenging the student so there is always progression.

In conclusion, the evening in question deserves to be an unqualified success and I would highly recommend it to anybody who has an interest in skateboarding; whether a newcomer to the sport or with a personal history behind them. The sessions, the facilities and a welcoming coach have made my experience with skateboarding an incredibly positive one.”
