BLUNT SCOOTER TOUR EVENT

SATURDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER 4 pm – 8 pm

Meet, greet and ride with the Blunt Scooter team! We are stoked to be welcoming the Pros from blunt scooters @byromes @jackchurchwardd @sophiemolyneux_ @harveyhortondavies to Graystone. This event is open to our whole scooter community, beginners and advanced riders.

Event Schedule:

4-6 pm: RIDE with the Pros – The pros will be out riding in the park, it’s your opportunity to see them in action and get some tips!

6-7 pm: JAMS – We will be running some scooter Jams in different sections of the park, the JAMS are optional, feel free to just ride.

7-8 pm: MEET & SIGN – This is your chance to get an autograph and get your gear signed. Bring a sharpie!

Spectators welcome, free entry.

COPING CLASH!

@copinguk FESTIVAL is just over a week away! Let's whet your whistle with all the lowdown on our skate offering for the day, all supported by a huge £1,000 prize fund from the epic dudes at @oakley. Here we give you the inside track on this year’s custom Coping Clash Master trophy made locally by the awesome @partingtonspots

We'll have 3 CLASH areas + the bowl and we'll be dishing out cash gear for tricks and the Coping CLASH MASTER walks away with their pockets stashed with cash!

We're stoked to announce we are hosting 🛹🇬🇧 UK ROOKIE FEST 2022 🇬🇧🛹 the British stop of the World Rookie Tour skate series.

This is a great opportunity for kids to enter their first competition in a fun and friendly environment.

Winners of the UK event earn their spot in the European finals in Innsbruck this October where they'll go head-to-head with Europe's finest Rookies!

Please note this date has been changed from August 20th to September 17th. All those with bookings on the original August date have been informed.

Born in 2005, the World Rookie Tour started out as a series of youth snowboard events and has evolved to become a series of high-quality international action sports events for snowboard, freeski, skateboard and surf. The so-called "Rookie Fests", are reserved for riders under 18 only, in Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia.

For the first time ever, the World Rookie Tour is making a stop in the UK, and will be giving an opportunity to the two best riders to win an invitation to ride, and all-inclusive tickets, to the final in Innsbruck, Austria.

The UK stop of the World Rookie Tour will take place at Graystone ‘The Home of Action Sports’ in the incredible city of Manchester, a city with a rich history and tradition in skateboarding.

The event is expected to have the usual good vibes and unique atmosphere associated with the World Rookie Tour events, and spectators can expect a high level of riding, music, chill drinks and amazing food.

World Rookie Rank and Age Categories
2022 World Rookie Tour Skateboard events are reserved for Rookies (born from 1st of January 2003 to 31st of December 2006) and Groms (born from 1st of January 2007 and up), both male and female. All contests in the World Rookie Tour will generate results for the World Rookie Rank.  Not only events in the World Rookie Fest can be part of the Skateboard Rookie Rank. Any event can be part of the Skateboard Rookie Rank as long as grom – and rookie aged riders participate as well. For example, the European Best Foot Forward Tour by Blue-Tomato, featuring 10 stops all over Europe, for riders of all ages in one group, is already part of the Skateboard Rookie Rank.

WCMX & ADAPTIVE SESSIONS

Discover a new passion in action sports with WCMX & adaptive skate.

WCMX or Wheel Chair Moto Cross is a new para sport that involves taking your wheelchair to the Skatepark and doing tricks on it. We are reaching out to our community to offer the opportunity to get involved and experience the excitement of a skatepark. ALL AGES & ABILITIES.

Spectators are also welcome, just come down, hang out and see what it’s about!

Graystone will provide basic protective equipment. Wheelchairs will need to be mechanically sound. Chairs must be solid frames (not folding).

There will be Spotters and Pushers to assist riders should they be required.

SKATEPAL JAM NIGHT!

It's going to be a sick evening of skateboarding and live music from some super talented bands all in good spirits to raise money for SKATEPAL.

SkatePal is a charity supporting young people under occupation in Palestine through skateboarding. Our coach Kiera will be spending a month volunteering with them to deliver coaching to the children they work with. Proceeds from this event will go to their cause.

Progress your climbing skills through coaching and games, both on & off the wall. Coach Jared is a fully qualified NICAS instructor.

GRAYSTONE LOCAL AYVA CLAIMS SILVER AT FLO HUB CHAMPS 🥈

We are super proud of Ayva for claiming second in the female street of the Flo Skatepark hub competition last weekend, massive result! The event endorsed by Skateboard GB included the top skaters in the UK from the regional talent hubs network. The Graystone Hub, lead by our coaches Danny & Gabriel, had several skaters competing.

Ayva has been smashing it recently and her level of skateboarding has progressed massively. To take second in a National Competition is a huge achievement at such a young age, well done Ayva! Congrats to all the skaters who competed in the event representing the Graystone Hub.

We can’t wait to watch our skaters compete at the National Champs this year.

We are hyped to announce the return of the Graystone Scooter Open 2022! The level of riding last year was insane, this year we’re going even bigger with the prizes, bring your A game. 🔥

The event will kick off at 3PM with our IMPROVERS JAM SESSION, a chance for those not competing to showcase their skills and get a taste of the action. The main competition will start at 4pm with the following categories; 11 & UNDER, 15 & UNDER, 16+ AMATEURS, MALE OPEN & FEMALE OPEN. Street & Resi.

A huge thanks to our main event sponsors Skatehut, Blunt & Core for putting up the £1500+ CASH & VOUCHERS PRIZE POT. Also thanks to Drone for providing giveaways.

In the coming weeks, road works will continue on Liverpool road. Access to Graystone will be possible at ALL TIMES. Please ignore sat nav directions and access Graystone via Liverpool street from the M602 end. Egerton road (red crosses on map) will be temporarily closed soon.

Depending on your sesssion time it would be advisable to allow some extra journey time.

Our staff had such a good time out in the Alps earlier this month, we felt we should do it again and invite you all along too. For those that don't know us well, Graystone was born in the French Alps, it's where our directors met and some of our key staff were recruited from.

The hotel we will be staying in is where our co-founder Kevin and his wife work as the management team.

DATES 

Saturday 26th March dep Manchester mid afternoon 

Thursday 31st March eve flight arrives back to Manchester late evening.

RESORT

Les Menuires, which is part of the three valleys, the worlds largest ski area including the resorts of Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens. Resort website.

 ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is at the hotel Skilt, in triple rooms, or larger 6 bed family rooms, and includes breakfast each morning and dinner on 4 of the 5 nights.

Hotel is basic but in the perfect position at the foot of the slopes, next to ski school meeting point, chairlift and gondola lift.

COVID RESTRICTIONS

France has continued to enforce extremely severe covid restrictions, making it impossible for the unvaccinated to access public spaces, trains, bars and restaurants. (even ski lifts).

Therefore you will need to be fully vaccinated to travel.

French definition of fully vaccinated = two doses, and if second dose was more than 9 months ago a booster is needed. this applies to everyone over 12.

Current rules on testing before travel are likely to be lifted soon, so we do not expect any testing to be needed, accept possibility of a day two test on return to UK. (these are available for £5 if still required at the end of March.

BOULDERING LAUNCH EVENT

We’re delighted to announce that our bouldering wall is now open and we’re hosting our official launch party from 6pm on Saturday, February 12th. We’re inviting the Greater Manchester climbing community down for a FREE session on us, so we can show you how stoked we are with our new wall – and the rest of Graystone, of course!

Kids can come along for a taster session earlier on in the day, from 4-6pm and we’ll have DJs playing into the night and free drink samples from our good friends at Rockstar Spirits once the climbing starts to wind down.

We’ll also be running a content competition where one lucky climber can win a year’s free climbing pass to Graystone! We’ll pick our favourite piece of content posted on the night, which uses our Geotag of Graystone Action Sports, Manchester.
